Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Information for Employees

Positive Solutions provides free* Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services to employees who are experiencing challenges in both their personal and professional life. Our EAP services can provide you with lifelong strategies to assist you in managing issues which may be causing you stress and/or anxiety.

What services can I access?

Generally, as an employee you are able to directly access counselling support without having to speak to your workplace. Other services such as training, workplace mediation, professional supervision and onsite support are normally referred via HR or Managers.


Who can use the EAP?

Where your employer has an agreement with us, you will be able to voluntarily access EAP services at no cost*. This agreement may also apply to your family members. To check if this is the case inquire at your workplace or contact our office.

How can an EAP help you?

At Positive Solutions we have a team of experienced counsellors, psychologists, social workers and mediators who can assist you with a wide range of issues. Some of these issues may include:

  • stress, anxiety and depression;
  • work/life balance;
  • relationship difficulties;
  • family separation
  • managing conflict;
  • addictions;
  • trauma, loss and grief;
  • financial difficulties;
  • work problems;
  • sexuality and gender identity;
  • bullying and harassment;
  • managing change; and
  • positive parenting.

Our service is confidential

Any service that you engage with at Positive Solutions is 100% confidential. We will only share information with your employer where we are required to by law or where you have consented for us to do so.

Our staff

Our services are delivered by qualified and experienced psychologists, social workers, counsellors, mediators and educators who have a diverse range of qualifications and specialisations. Our team works within strict ethical guidelines under best practice policies and procedures. We attend ongoing professional training and development and receive regular supervision.

How do I access this service?

In most instances no referral is needed from your workplace to access EAP services. You are able to call, email or fill in the web form to obtain an appointment.

Appointments are available face to face in our offices located in Hobart, Launceston, Burnie Devonport, Wynyard and St Helens. If you are unable to attend one of these locations we are also able to offer appointments via telephone or online. To make an appointment please call our Hobart office during business hours on 6223 5612.

We have a prompt response

All our calls are answered by our Hobart based staff who will arrange an appointment for counselling usually within 72 hours of your request. If you are unable to attend one of our locations we can arrange telephone or online appointments.
