It is common for families to go through ups and downs. If your family is experiencing relationship issues, communication difficulties or is undergoing a significant adjustment, our family counsellors can help you find solutions to meet these needs.

At Positive Solutions we are experienced in working with families and can provide counselling for families. We are also a member of Stepfamilies Australia and this support is also extended to blended families.

Our family counsellors are experienced and skilled in dealing with the challenges that are faced by families. We will help support families to strengthen relationships within the family unit by:

  • assessing their needs
  • identifying areas for change
  • promoting understanding and ways of relating
  • restoring trust and communication

What are the benefits of family counselling?

The benefits of counselling will vary from one family to the next. The benefits may include:

  • developing healthy boundaries
  • improving communication
  • defining someone’s role within the family
  • improving family relationships and interactions
  • providing coping tools for family members
  • providing strategies to assist families to solve problems.

Our Staff

Our tertiary qualified and experienced team of social workers, psychologists and counsellors. All clinical staff undertake professional supervision and on-going training to ensure a high quality of service. Our therapists use a range of counselling approaches, based on what is appropriate for the family and their particular issues.

How much will family counselling cost?

Counselling services are on a fee for service basis. Waiting times for an appointment vary according to the current level of demand and your availability. For more information on costs please contact us on 6223 5612.

Do you provide services over the phone or online?

In most instances counselling face-to-face is most effective but we know that sometimes you may not be able to visit one of our locations. To organise counselling support via phone or online please contact us.

Dear Clients

Important COVID-19 Update

At Positive Solutions, the safety and well-being of our clients and staff are our priority. As we know, the easing of border restrictions has resulted in the transmission of COVID-19 in the community. To ensure we keep the risk of COVID-19 transmission within Positive Solutions to a minimum, we request:

  • That all clients, staff and visitors wear a mask when visiting Positive Solutions. We request that you supply your own mask.
  • Please remember to use the Check-In Tas app on arrival for each visit.
  • Please use hand sanitiser regularly and maintain social distancing of 1.5m.
  • You will not be able to wait onsite for a family/friend who is attending a session. Where sessions end early we can call to advise.
  • We are continuing to operate face to face but if you are available to attend via phone or online please let us know.
  • If you are exhibiting any cold or flu like symptoms please do not attend the office. We are able to easily reschedule appointments to phone/online if needed.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our clients and staff safe during this time.
