Individual Counselling

Individual counselling can support you with personal ‘worries’ through to issues with anxiety and depression. At Positive Solutions our counsellors will support you as an individual in any life challenge. They will provide practical strategies for the issues causing concern. Our counsellors will not tell you what to do, judge you or encourage you toward a particular outcome. 

In individual counselling you may only want to discuss one issue, such as anxiety, or many issues. Examples of what you may discuss and need support with include:

  • Couple issues;
  • Parenting;
  • Domestic Violence;
  • Depression;
  • Anxiety;
  • Grief;
  • Stress;
  • Worklife balance; and
  • Conflict in various situations, including work related conflicts.

Our Staff

Positive Solutions’ has an experienced team of social workers, psychologists and counsellors. All of our team undertake professional supervision and on-going training to ensure a high quality of service. Our intake staff take care in matching you with a counsellor to ensure your needs are met.

What will individual counselling cost?

Individual counselling services are on a fee for service basis and no referral is required. Waiting times for an appointment vary according to the current level of demand, your availability and your location.

Do you provide services over the phone or online?

In most instances counselling face-to-face is most effective but we know that sometimes you may not be able to visit one of our locations. We can provide counselling support via phone or online. For further information please contact us. 

How do I make an appointment?

Important COVID-19 Update

At Positive Solutions, the safety and well-being of our clients and staff are our priority. As we know, the easing of border restrictions has resulted in the transmission of COVID-19 in the community. To ensure we keep the risk of COVID-19 transmission within Positive Solutions to a minimum, we request:

  • That all clients, staff and visitors wear a mask when visiting Positive Solutions. We request that you supply your own mask.
  • Please remember to use the Check-In Tas app on arrival for each visit.
  • Please use hand sanitiser regularly and maintain social distancing of 1.5m.
  • You will not be able to wait onsite for a family/friend who is attending a session. Where sessions end early we can call to advise.
  • We are continuing to operate face to face but if you are available to attend via phone or online please let us know.
  • If you are exhibiting any cold or flu like symptoms please do not attend the office. We are able to easily reschedule appointments to phone/online if needed.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our clients and staff safe during this time.
