Positive Solutions employs staff in a range of fields including counselling, family dispute resolution, mediation, training as well as in corporate and administrative areas.
We require all staff to have:
- a current Police Clearance; and
- a current Working with Children Check
Counsellor qualifications
Positive Solutions counselling staff are required to have:
- a relevant qualification in psychology, social work or counselling;
- a minimum of two years experience;
- accreditation with a professional body and/or Board, or working towards.
Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner qualifications
Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners are required to have:
- Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution;
- Current registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General’s Department; and
- Experience working in a solo mediation model, and the ability to work as a co-mediator.

Does Positive Solutions take on Students requiring placement?
Positive Solutions will provide placements to students who require counselling, and in some circumstances Family Dispute Resolution and mediation hours as a part of their course. Placements are only offered through our Hobart office. If you are wanting to gain placement at Positive Solutions, we will require a current resume and details of your placement requirements, which can be sent to [email protected]. If we determine that we may be able to provide you with a placement opportunity, you may then be invited to attend a meeting with some of our team. This is to ensure that you fit with our team and services and that we can meet the requirements of your placement.
Our placement opportunities are limited and students requesting a placement may not necessarily be provided one.
