We are a Tasmanian not for profit with a vision to empower people to attain greater harmony.
About Us
For more than 30 years Positive Solutions has been providing support and assistance to individuals, couples, families, workplaces and communities across Tasmania.
Positive Solutions was incorporated under the name Community Mediation Service Tasmania Inc and was established as a pilot project in 1990 with seed money from the Peace Trust, Law Society of Tasmania and the Law Foundation. After some research and the development of a mediation model suitable for Tasmania, Positive Solutions opened for business in Hobart in April 1991.
Mediations in the neighbourhood and workplace areas were carried out on a fee-for-service basis and with sponsorship from some local councils and State Government departments.
From these beginnings we have grown our service delivery from Hobart to across the state and expanded our services to include family mediation, counselling, workplace services, including employee assistance programs.
We are commitmented to enabling people to build personal pathways to enhance their wellbeing.

We couldn’t do what we do without the dedication and commitment of our talented team of staff and board members.
Our talented staff may be just starting their career, or are onto their PhD or master’s degree, however everyone has a passion for learning, growing and a commitment to improving the lives of our clients. Our team is made up of diverse individuals with qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work, mediation, rehabilitation counselling, conflict management, supervision and management.
