Relationship Breakdown

relationship breakdownWhen a long-standing relationship or marriage begins to fall apart, you will feel sadness, anger and massive unhappiness.

It can help to talk it over with someone else, someone neutral who is not associated with your friends and family or your partner’s friends and family.

Call Positive Solutions and we will organise a session with one of our counsellors who is skilled at helping people deal with the issues around a relationship breakdown. The number is 1800 064 039.

Perhaps the situation has deteriorated to the point where you have accepted there will be a split between you and your partner. If that is the case and there are unresolved issues in relation to parenting arrangements or property there are a couple of steps you may need to take.

  • The first thing you need to do ismake an appointment to consider mediation as an alternative to going to Court. Look at our mediation page and make an appointment for a pre-mediation interview.
  • The second thing you need to do is check with Positive Solutions or the Family Relationship Centre about procedures around separation. You can contact the Family Relationship Advice Line on 1800 050 321 between 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday. Family Relationships Online provides information about the changes to the family law system. The web address is www.familyrelationships.gov.au.

No matter what your situation, if you need some emotional and mental support at a time of unhappiness in your life, call Positive Solutions on 1800 064 039 and there will be someone to talk to you, confidentially and privately.
